Amid the COVID-19 pandemic as most clubs sat idle and waiting for news, Twin City Union FC was able to solidify a key addition to their club infrastructure. The addition comes in the way of Heather Cato. Coach Cato will act as the Director of Coaching, Director of Operations, and most likely have a hand in coaching one or more of the youth teams. Cato is the current Head Coach of Saint Martins University Women's Soccer and brings nearly two decades of College and Youth Soccer coaching experience.

Coach Cato was a four year starter at University of Arkansas, a US U-20 National Team Player, and was part of the player pool for the USWNT. At the University of Arkansas she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree and would then get her Masters of Arts Degree from University of Arkansas - Little Rock.

As a coach, Cato has taken on coaching roles around the country at colleges such as Saint Martins, Central Michigan University, Rogers State University, Whitman College, and University of Arkansas-Little Rock. Coach Cato never forgot about the youth as she has always been involved with youth soccer programs as well. Those programs include the likes of Rainier Soccer Alliance, Cap City Athletic 1847, Northeast Oklahoma FC, Walla Walla HS, and Little Rock FC. She also ran her own "Heather Cato Academy" from 1999-2016.

When asked what she hoped to bring to the club, her response was "A desire to give back to the game of soccer by helping develop future players that can have fun, compete, and grow as a player and a person."

It seems as though the "skies the limit" for Cato, so we of course had to ask what made her decide to join TCUFC, she said that TCU was "able to give her the opportunity as a new up and coming club, to help build and grow a program the right way; focused on the player and the game".

With training slowly starting to ramp up and players finally getting to step foot back onto the pitch, the club hopes to set its sights on the new level Cato hopes to bring to the table. Coach Cato will serve the role as Director of Coaching and Director of Operations within the club. This is an exciting time for the club amid the pandemic and we hope this new addition leads to additional players wanting to join the club.

Lastly, here is a statement directly from Coach Heather Cato to Club Players, Parents, and Fans:

"My philosophy in everything I do, be it in life, with the college team, or at Twin City Union, is to always strive to be a Good Human. My #1 priority at the Twin City Union club will be to develop the whole person. Each player who comes through our program will become a better soccer player and a better person by way of the soccer field."
